In this slide show and lecture, Marcus Daniels will present a highlight reel of the most spectacular rock art of Australia and Africa.
From the Lightning Brothers in the Northern territory and the Wandjina Soul Spirit paintings in the Kimberly region of Western Australia, to the shamanic inspired paintings of South Africa Zululand, the palate is diverse and beautiful. One will have the time to experience the symbolism and receive the transmissions the paintings hold.
Marcus Daniels is a practitioner of the healing arts. His passion is photographing prehistoric cave paintings and sacred sites around the world.
Our Joseph Campbell RoundTable meets monthly on the 3rd Sunday, in the FireplaceRoom at the CSS Seminar Center, on Stone Mountain Farm. We are located at the crossing of River Road and Springtown Road, about 5 miles north of New Paltz. Bring your curiosity about the mythic imagination, and a simple snack to share if convenient. (For details, select JOSEPH CAMPBELL ROUNDTABLE on Sidebar.)
The Joseph Campbell RoundTable at the Center for Symbolic Studies is a study group exploring the work of Joseph Campbell and applications of myth in our current culture. You need not be well versed or versed at all in Campbell’s work to attend. We all know the myths, while some of us are familiar with the mythic patterns and themes from ancient greek stories, others know them well through the song we heard on the radio this morning.
